We understand the importance of inclusion, equity and safeguarding. We intentionally address the systemic barriers that hinder women and historically marginalized groups from meaningfully participating in and deriving benefits from economic opportunities.
Available evidence indicates that where segments of the population are held back from full participation in economic activities because of unequal access to opportunity, education, or other forms of discrimination, everyone suffers from impeded economic growth and increased poverty. Despite significant progress in addressing equity, safeguarding, and inclusion—disproportionate access to and distribution of resources, decision-making power, education and training, and economic opportunities persist. These barriers are mostly experienced by women and girls, people living with disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers, and groups experiencing marginalization due to contextual insecurity and socioeconomic factors.
We collaborate with companies, local organizations, leaders, governments, and citizens to address complex gender and safeguarding issues, as well as the root causes of exclusion and inequity. We integrate gender equity, safeguarding, and women’s economic empowerment into our services and throughout project cycles, from design to implementation and evaluations. Our experts employ proven approaches, including those drawn from our thought-leading insights, such as the Toolkit for Mainstreaming Gender Equality And Social Inclusion Into Interventions, to promote the economic, social, and developmental outcomes of these groups in our society.
